First Sword Purchase

Well, I'm looking to purchase my first melee weapon.  Though the Voulge seems appealing, I think I'm going to stick with 1-handed weapon for now.

I was saving to buy the Nordic Champion Sword because it's awesome!  But then I here folks talking about upkeep cost, and I'm curious if I'll be able to afford it (being a new low lvl player).

So should I purchase the Shashka or Arabian Cavalry Sword over the Nordic Champion?

And sorry for all the question/topics... just trying to educate myself, and get a good start to the game.

Well, I really like the Long Arming Sword. It has basically the same stats as the Nordic Champion's, but less swim damage and more thrust damage. Plus, its 3k gold cheaper, so that should help with the upkeep problem if you're worried about that.

Arabian Cav Sword is only good when your using it on the horse, because it is a pretty slow weapon. The shashka isnt as good as most of the other one-handers. I would prefer either the Long Arming Sword or the Espada Eslanova(thrust damage is pretty OP on this weapon)
