I know the Pan0s dude a bit from when he still played siege, and he seemed like an alright dude, although a bit immature and overly proud of his vocabulary of swear words. I think he could have taken the right turn with a coach. The cult following of insane and drooling children that flocked around him was the worst thing that could have happened to him, in my opinion. It just made him believe the dumb and obnoxious side of his personality is more important than the smart, humorous one.
From what I know of him (which is admittedly not a lot), I don't understand the permaban though. As others have said, it's easy to mute individual people. And I've never seen him actually griefing or something.
