So the last part I was waiting for finally arrived and I was set to build this new peecee. The late arrival was the cpu cooler, and when I took it out of the box I noticed that the little stickers on the feet of the backplate were all askew. One of them, in fact, was completely missing. I took the rest off because hey, clearly those are there for some dumb shipping reason, right? So I put the backplate on the motherboard and I'm looking at the instructions to see how the x-shaped bracket holds the heatsink on and screws into the backplate when I read the following:
Don't peel off the insulating tape. The insulating tape must face the motherboard.Oh. Crap. Was that what those greenish stickers were? Why the hell was one of them missing in the box?
All that waiting and now I just have to wait longer and on the same damn component. Dog gone it. Though I suppose it
could have ended much worse.
In better news I saw Winter Soldier, it was p cool.
It's bucky.
Eat that, partakers of ere-established intellectual properties.
