We had a round last night, really good cav and archer map, with almost all the cav and archers (and horse archers) on the same team. Was pretty much an absolute slaughter for 7 rounds.
I think the population dropped from about 80 players to 40 because of the GTX, balance, GTX cycle. Typical round put more players, in comparison, on the non-cav/archer team, and by the end we would have quite a few less.
I'm talking absolute slaughter, like, pretty much nobody got any kills. By the end we had 1 cav VS 5, and they had at least a dozen archers.
My thought is the problem with balance is it seems to take equipment cost into account, which for cav is fine and dandy, but there are a lot of clan players who, by simply working together and being good, do not need to use heavy armor at all. Then you've got heirlooms which provide a very real bonus without being taken into consideration for balance..
The only way these stacks seem to be corrected is by GTXters, and that just serves to empty out the server.
