The timer is a problem for the attackers, even if they do attack, if the defender has too many troops. Right now it seems like the timer is capped at 2hours, no matter how many combatants.
There are 7200 seconds in 2 hours, and only 1 respawn per sec per team. As a result, you can't defeat armies with 7200 troops without capping their spawn. And an army as big as that will most likely fight back. Making it pretty much impossible to kill 1 player per sec for 2hours non-stop.

In this battle the attackers were forced to kill 1enemy every 1.5 sec.

On a second not i think that chadz idea for a village attack was caped after 2 hours is good. Because do we really want to have those kind of fights ? i mean 4.700 troops to attack a fief a small village, i want the castles or town fights. not the small village ones. siege for town or castle is 4 hours still i presume. and really 4 hours is a bit much as well. just think if 2 castles was attacked at same time, 8 hours straight with gaming.. unhealthy

You might remember last strategus we played 11 hours straight all most. was a bitch so fights have to be maxed out at one point. village 3 hours just make same problem even bigger.

Attack with smaller amount of troops then. Instead of attacking with one huge army split it into several smaller ones and after one assault is over, attack with another army. Or don't attack at all and start besieging the enemy village. I doubt many medieval village/castle sieges were finished with one attack, I think they included multiple assaults and each one of those assault weakened the enemy garrison.

Also this prevents the archer camping tactics and forces the attacker to actually attack with melee infantry

(One does not simply walk into Emirin)

Would anyone care to write what happened, objectively if possible, for us who weren't there?
I mean, what have you got to lose? You know, you come from nothing, you're going back to nothing, what have you lost? Nothing!

DRZ attacked town with 4.7k troops knowing about yesterdays failed attack by templars against Hre. So they knew about timelimit of 2 hours.

Battle started was down to 4200 vs 4000 or something, then many defenders say they see det withdrawal text come up, many did not see it.

Anyway all Drz flags where down and could not be raised again (as in withdrawal  does).

We killed rest and part of equipment's troops went to emerin.

Exactly. Makes the strat-battles for melee way more interesting.

I guess the timer is way more higher for castle or city-battles, though. So we still get to see those huge battles sooner or later.

Vovka, I do not affirm on the fact, that you were fucking QMRing every 5 sec. But I'm not the only one, who saw the message. Maybe it accidentally happened once(not by you, perhaps), then it was just like a reminder for the defenders. Or it's just a bug.

To be honest then you should attack with smaller armies multiple times.
Not every war can be won in one single fight.

If templars would have attacked with 2 seperate armies they would have won.
If Drz would have done this in 3 steps they would probably have won.

If someone defends a village with 4000 men he deserves to get more then one 2h battle out of it.

This game isn't about being skillful as much as its about saying things in general chat that enrage people who then go to murder you but in their rage they make dumb mistakes which gets them killed.

Yep;) I saw it every 5 seconds...

Nice Bullshit.

If someone retreats the message only pops up once... and not every 5 seconds.

Ive seen armies retreat from the 22nd before.

And this was not a retreat. This was straightout bullshit.
To DRZ. This was claimed for "FUN" both the invasion and the fights. Well then i guess its not a big loss. because who would bring there hole army for "fun" ????

And in all fairness things can be interesting now in strategus. for you guys as well.

Start having a little trouble with guilt feeling? Trying to bent reason doesnt relief it... trust me.

Btw, CMPX was at the battle, why hasnt he responded yet too his thread or the bug thread?

Seriously this is like the 10th time some miracle happens, to bail out the Mercs.

Fuck this mod.
