So, I've been to OFF Festival in Poland, and I can say it was the most intense musical experience I have ever had. I saw a lot of bands I never thought I'd see live. I recommend this festival for anybody who goes to festivals to listen to music in the first place, and not to experience an alcoholocaust or get absolutely shitfaced by drugs. This fest is nothing about that, of course it's not excluded entirely, but the whole thing is focused on music. I won't post recordings from the fest I've been to, cause there are no official videos yet, but I'll just post whatever looks and sounds similar to what I saw.
I never did this before, but literally CRIED while Slowdive played. Even though they were on the top more than 20 years ago, they are still absolutely mindblowing on stage. Make sure to check them out if you can.
I also saw The Jesus And Mary Chain. I wasn't looking forward to it THAT much, because i thought they wouldn't have the energy and the filth they used to have. I was wrong. They did ane excellent performance, also like Slowdive, they had their highlights waay back in time, but they are still killer on stage.
I was really looking forward to seeing Neutral Milk Hotel, and they had a great performance, but the mixing was a bit fucked up. Drums were pretty loud, and several times they had unintentional feedback. Probably it was because they had a shitton of acoustic instruments which aren't easy to mic up and shit. Anyways they were good, the fact that I was seeing NMH live gave it a pretty big boost.
Also one of the best shows was Earth, performing in a church. With those acoustics they sounded awesome, plus you could smell that classic burnt-tube smell, when you crank all the way up a tube amp.
I also saw clipping. deafheaven, Andrew WK and tons of other artists, and it was awesome.
I made this post, because I want to recommend all of you guys this festival, and also to encourage you to catch the cited artists while they are still together, because I don't see a big chance for them to come back again.
