Until world peace is truly achieved through man's free will and acceptance of others rather than by fear of global annihilation this will always be the measure of a nations worth.

North Korea must be worth alot then.

I think it's all not about democracy, freedom and liberty. It's about economy, resources, power. Just because the people don't want to hear that, they are told about former. What happens in the world is because of economy, resources, power, nothing more. The whole system is named capitalism. And every possible alternative will be bombed away: socialism, islamism and whatever will come. Not facism, because facism is only a special form of capitalism, only without free competition of the markets and democracy. We have to learn, that all is about economy, capitalism.

Lol.

I think we're beyond limited definitions at this point, and any system name-dropping is a result of rhetoric.

The problems in Eastern Europe have little to do with socialism, but corruption.

I always thought Democratic Socialism was nice.
Only if we had a small country to test it out on.

The biggest problem with capitalism is that it's a system based upon and rewarding the qualities of greed, self-centered narcissists, immoral competetive drive and exploitation of other men.
The biggest problem with socialism is that in the end it's still managed and governed by human beings succeptable to those same negative qualities above and overall corruption of the system.
And I should be nice or polite to anyone.... why exactly?

Hmm. I'd like to ask:

Have you ever danced into the danger zone, where the dancer becomes the dance?
I defended the village and all I got was this stupid title.

Social Democracy = Democratic Socialism
You're combining an economic theory and a political theory in one phrase.

Democracy (Multi-Party, Elected, President-run Government) + Socialism (Government permitted to own companies to stimulate economy)

"The term is sometimes used synonymously with "social democracy", but social democrats need not accept this label, and many self-identified democratic socialists oppose contemporary social democracy because social democracy retains the capitalist mode of production."

Ishar, if that's a reference to me, I put links in accordance with the tone of the thread. Theres many other more serious sources if you wish me to post some. Especially considering that most of the ridiculous bullshit Americans believe about the French is entirely derived from pop culture I don't think seriousness of links is high on the list.

France sure proved itself in WW2, hmmm the Germans attacked through the the forest the first time, certainly they would not do it a second time??!  Anyway lets stay behind our line of fortifications and well be fine.

I think a lot of jokes about France are due to France going belly up during WW2, for example

Also, what was the name of the forest that the German Army attacked through?
