Have you ever joined a competition to lift weights or something Balton? and won?

Whilst my numbers are high enough to easily secure me first in any amateur competition, I live in Alaska. It's not worth flying down to the lower 48 in order to compete in an amateur competition, and I don't take training seriously enough to make it my life's source of income (it's just a hobby).

Oh, Balton. I started going to the gym 6 weeks ago and am bulking until next spring when I cut. Been adding 1 pound per week to my body weight, feels good.
I've always been a distance runner and never did any upper body sports so I have awful arms even though I swim. To make it more ridiculous, I am 5'10 with a 6' 2'' wingspan.
Going from skinny runner mode to a full body. Arms/shoulders are going to be a bitch to fill out.

Nice, you get beginner gains for the first 3 or so months; I am sure you'll progress fast. Just remember, if you want to grow, you gotta row.

I am loving my beginner gains. I'll probably hit my goal weight on beginner gains alone since I'm just looking to fill out my frame. I'm not trying to powerlift or get big in any way.
I row, Deadlift, squat, bench, OHP, dip, pullups. All the big compounds.
