Well I would be glad to take any pilot tips tbh, it's kind of hard to fly only with mouse since I have to pick it up and move it forward so i can keep making a turn... works better if I use the arrow keys combined with mouse tho (you don't really need WASD when flying a jet I noticed).
Well joystick is completely bugged for me atm, if I plug it in, I cant shoot my weapons normally with my mouse (the fuck?) I suggest you increase your mouse sensitivity for planes (stock is fine for me, Rdeathadder does its thing)
Just get heatseeking missiles(after a while youll be good enough at flying to only have to use cannon for AA, which is pretty great) and learn to hug(I mean REALLY hug the ground, flying at 5-10 meters and then going up for a strike) the ground once you get below radar, with fighter-bombers I can easily fight for whole rounds without dying, taking their tanks/infantry out all the time(14 rockets from a Rpod is total destruction on a squad). Also don't forget this: you "don't" have a medium speed (its useless) its either S (slow down) or shift+w, master this last thing and no enemy plane will be able to avoid you, considering that you can also use outside camera after a tight turn. Yes, I spent loads of hours in BF2 flying helis and planes :X
