@Sphinxer
Neutrality is the ideal status of a Mercenary Faction as i see it.
An Ideal at foremost, something to reach for, but never reached.
@Tomas
BTW, i see some other Categories and basic definitions we could use.
As i am still under the impression that this game is in
a medieval time hrhrhr,
i took some freedoms with logic, when i thought i could express the characteristic trait in a more colorful way,
i hope i succeeded at least a little
EDIT: I am not an excel specialist and just learned about conditional formating, check it out, in the long run it could perhaps save some time updating the spreadsheet. I don't know how to make a menu though which would be perhaps even more better.Categories and basic definitions:- War( the last tool of diplomacy, the first rule to superiority )
- Hostility - Enemies ( There had bean war, since then there is not really peace, no NAP )
- Unsure ( having them at my doorsteps without any relation, what do they think who they are rooaaaar ;) )
- Neutrality ( the state of tranquility, balance and stability, presses to compromise , trade without expanding the realm )
- NAP ( enough bloodshed, there shall not die another man )
- Coalition ( >=3 Factions, implies a common target/operational goal, but no further bounds )
- Friends ( Factions you want to have close so they perhaps would help you as you like each other and each of you sees the other also as buffer zone(cynical isn't it ^^, )
- Defence & Support Treaty ( only between 2 Factions )
- Defence Alliance(>= 3 clans, if without aggression attacked one of the partners, all come to aid, if someone of the members attack on their own, the others need not to join in )
- Full Alliance (Same as the Defence Alliance, only that this type alliance decides that they always act in sync through a council, every faction with 2 votes, at a draw, a within the council member rotating post as Council Elder(monthly), gets a second vote )
- Vassal and Protector - Vassalage ( we die for each other ) [I take offence to the title "Master", as a Vassal would do, as they are the closest to the own blood).
suggestion for color code (RGB) :
- War - red (255,0,0)
- Hostility(Enemies) - orange (255,153,0)
- Unsure - yellow (255,255,0)
- Neutrality - dark Blue (0,0,255)
- NAP - light blue (0,204,255)
- Coalition - not quite that light blue (153,204,255)
- Friends - blue green (0,128,128)
- Defence & Support Treaty - dark green(0,128,0)
- Defence Alliance - lighter green(179,213,128)
- Full Alliance - shiny green(204,255,204)
- Vassal and Protector - green! everything is green! (0,255,0)
If the data collected here
would work with either
a website like this one (author:vinnytk?)
or/and
Strategus Territorial Map (author:Comrade_Temuzu?)
and implemented through the
Eye Candy scritp additions (author:Chort?)
would then by clicking on a faction, show their relations in color on the map, which would give us a good tactical base to judge a faction in combination with also geographical effects to estimate situations.
Another thought came to mind...
As in the excel sheat, the leaders or the authorized diplomats need to confirm, there might be variances how relations in between those 2 spreahsheet crossing Factions compared might see each other.
This can be perhaps better be seen in the terretorial map, as these data could be used either to try harder to get better or worse relation ships or let you see opening to engage in another area/era/stage/level of diplomacy.
And while we are at it ...
how about letting us see dependencies between a factions member count and the count of fiefs they maintain.
F.E. it looks in extremes like, many fiefs few members kind of fogy and solid the other way round.
So who is overextending now?
Finally!
Give me on the strategus character page a relation ship link, where i can fill in on my own(rank 10-9), my relations who i am willing to make openly known.
far in the Future:
use this as a good tool for diplomacy
So this took some time and i hope some of you guys can make something happen with it.
farewell
