If you're concerned about your ping, open Command Prompt, and type "tracert 216.52.148.5", if you think you have an abnormally high response time during the tracert, PM me.

e: Using EckoAirith's servers and whatever data centre he seems to be using, is not an accurate benchmark.

at least according to tracert i get a better ping to chicago then i do to dallas, and i've been yelling at zealot about the move since i heard about it

We already have enough popular servers in chicago imo. What's the harm in keeping them in Dallas? You don't have to make everyone play on your servers. I believe it'd be better to give the community more choices.

who chose this? was it the EU dev guys? are they making it easier on them when they play strat on our servers ?!?!  :lol:

That's nice, keep in mind Strategus is used on these servers, and as I've stressed before I'd rather have a mainstream equal provider where everything can share in good response times, happy go lucky latency, and jolly good ping. User servers are open to be wherever they want as far as I know, have some of them be in Dallas, and go play on them.

I made the decision, pitched it to that big boss guy I answer too, and he gave me a green light, so I'm doing it.
