@deutschritter, if you want an overpaint, give me a hint, it will may help you understand what I would criticise in specific, but without that I just say: you have a good eye for details and it feels like your picture is telling a story. that's a good thing, man! also, I'm happy you showed us!

@cheap_shot
this photo-thing is new to me, too. I never used photos in my paintings before. but I have some photo editing experience ofc. in this picture i cropped, sized and cut em together until they fit and then did several different tries of color curve edits and rough brush work with brush mode on 'color' and 'tone' (i hope these are the english names for them).
in general i use a simple hard brush mostly, on 40 to 60 % opacity and normal mode, and then I paint the whole thing out like my feeling tells me (that's quite hard to explain really).
extremely useful when working: having pressed the ALT key when having selected the brush gives you instant access to the eyedropper tool. just select a color near the area where you paint and then paint it over with ~50 %. then take a new color and so on.
- I don't go into details too fast, instead I work my way from a rough color mess to more detailed figurative shapes, though having the sketch layer on top with multiply layer mode helps getting a feeling of color and plot
- for realism I always use many tones at once (dont paint grass just green, know what im saying?), and I try to think of rim lighting/color reflection, which is most important for a picture to not feel flat and dull
- inspiration does it, I look how other guys are doing, I try to learn from faults made by others. I searched deviantart.com for like every day (while it's hard to ignore the kittie sometimes
![Mad :mad:](https://forum.c-rpg.net/Smileys/default/icon_mad.gif)
...)
sums up to: practice a lot, make small pictures for practice not huge loading screens, especially when you try out new stuff. i made this fault over and over. THIS work on the screens is like my first big painting that turned out good ever (while not working on bigger stuff for half a year or so). but sketches are crucial, btw.
yeah, I hope that helps

I would like a feature to name items, would be nice to find 'Kajia's Strawhat' somewhere on a battlefield someday, lol.
My artists honor does not allow me to post unfinished stuff to use, though.
And which aspect ratio is mostly used by players? 16:9, 16:10, 4:5 or 4:3? I'll have to optimize the screens for this.
I could make different ones too, but there should be one as the most common.
(...) all of it goes to kajia because there is no 2nd or 3rd base pictures. There is some posted here but they're not up to the standard that a loading screen would require. (...)
that's rough, dude. It doesn't matter what standard the pics are, they're works of art and therefore worth an appreciation. I don't care about splitting the price, it's not that I did this only for the money in the first place.
