its a pain in the rear but if you (ctrl&+)  then (ctrl&-)  to zoom in and then zoom back out the villages will appear, but upon refresh you will have to do it again.

How to uninstall
Firefox: rightclick on greasemonkey icon (monkey face) -> manage user scripts -> select script -> press "Remove"
Chrome: Menu -> Tools -> Extensions -> remove script
