Okay, I made a Longbowman archer alt, thanks to STF, and played it for a few hours.
(Sorry to those 2 fellows who I hit in the head as teammates, it was my first game.)
Of course, I got a bit better after the first round. Sniped a few times.
But there is one thing I don't understand, and it's the archery animation.
Wouldn't it make more sense for an archer, to don't pull his bow while aiming?
I'm going to show an example: The Huntsman bow from Team Fortress 2.

(If you ignore the arrow drop.)
For those who don't know how it works:
-You nock the arrow.
-You don't pull it until you want, so you can aim freely.
-AFTER that you pull the bow, and shoot quickly, because if you hold back, you won't hit anything.
The point is, I don't understand why
Warband cRPG archers try to shoot instantly when they nock their bows,
and I find this as a nice mechanic, for a better archery experience. Why?
-It would solve all the "Why can't I aim for more than a second" problems.
-Running away while shooting would become a lot more complicated, and harder. (Archers getting some respect, maybe?)
