Bec de Corbin or poleaxe?

Hey every1,
I'm going 1h\polearm hybrid for this gen, so I'm going to choose from these (coz won't be able to take both, obviously). So tell me ppl, what is considered to be more kickass polearm?

That's what I'm thinking:

Bec de Corbin
* about 1k cheaper = less upkeep
* piercing damage (highest EVAR) = effective vs tincans
* 4 points more speed
* only 15 difficulty = rather early acessable + usable with 15 STR builds

Poleaxe
* 21 points more reach
* bonus against shields
* 0,5 more weight (afaik = more stun\ dmg? plz explain)
* more damage (both cutting from swing and piercing)

Greened out what's more attractive to me.

So, basically, both are very handy. And whenever I use one, I'm always tempted to switch to another, and blame my failures on "wrong weapon choices"  :D. Moreover, I'm going to heirloom one of them and use it with my next ranged generation.

Need your help to decide which is more worthy. Also, if you think that other polearm is better, plz suggest. But only 1 thing to notice - I use european gear this gen and would like to be stylish, so no orient stuff please  :D

if you choose one and rly get to know it both will be good.  i for one love reach and hitting power.  that combined with good footwork seems worth more than the speed and piercing damage of a bec.  depends a bit on ure build too,  tho.

24/15 is good for the poleaxe, as it can defend against horses and trash infantry, especially if they depend on shields. You can scare off shielders simply by walking into view. I use Light Strange Boots, Black Wisby Gauntlets, Black Coat of Plates and a Barbutte. I also use a long knife for stylin' points.

If you use the bec, you might wanna go for an 18/21 build. Mainly this is good for medium to ehavy armour, and you can two-shot a surprising amount of opponents. Tydeus does this and he is damned effective. Horses though will trahs you if you do not know what you are doing, so consider also using a Long Spear on cav-friendly maps to stay alive.

Poleaxe for doing work, Bec for tin-can control and taking out most melee users.

I prefer using the Poelaxe because I can defend against horses, and because I dislike the Bec on personal principle. I also dislike Shielders.
I'm not normal and I don't pretend so, my approach is pretty much a bomb crescendo.
Death is a fun way to pass the time though, several little bullets moving in staccato.

If you love to get into people's face and hug them while trying to get around them the bec is a better weapon.

I personally prefer the poleaxe because of it's length and I love being able to kill horses without having to use an alternate weapon. The slow speed on it is brutal though.

Poleaxe.

As a secondary weapon, it is way more useful for a 1h+Shield user. You can take Steel Pick against 2h, and change to Poleaxe against shield users.

I do not see any point in having Bec de Corbin as a backup weapon. Its short. I bet i can hit as far with a Long Arming Sword, as Bec does :) With Poleaxe, you can always threaten your enemies with your stab/thrust, and force them to defend. With Bec, you will have to block the first strikes yourself. Polearms are best when they are long. Otherwise its best to take a 2h sword or axe...

You can always try both weapons on your alt, or wait on lvl 31, and test them before retiering.

Having just finished a polearms gen, I'd say the poleaxe or the german poleaxe. The poleaxe (as has already been covered) has much better utility than the bec and can be used in a variety of situations (it also has a very good pierce thrust, so if you do come up against tin cans you can feint your way to some easy kills).

I like the german because it can do the one thing the regular poleaxe can't, which is be a shield/doorbreaker. I play siege mostly, and would switch between the two based on the circumstances.

Keep in mind that I don't necessarily dislike the bec on principle, I just prefer to fight a bit at range and not facehug (my ping isn't in the 20s).

I really hate the bec de corbin reach. I died numerous amount of times while doing an overhead that missed the opponents, even though i "felt" like he was in range.
I'm using the poleaxe now, and it feels way better.

Poleaxe for battle, Bec for dueling. The main cause being length.

Something good?

I know the poleaxe gets a bonus against shields, but I always felt like (with 9 PS) it took 1-2 less swings with the German, which made enough of a difference for me.
