What did the Long Awlpike do to you?

As the title says: I see no reason in removing the shield from the Long Awlpike. Neither was this weapon overused, nor could you score a lot of kills with it. The nerf was completely unnecessary. 

Please, bring back the shield use!

Fighting agains Long Awlpike was a fun cause their superior reach but lesser speed compared to my war spear. So what will you do switch to normal Awlpike?

Nah, I personally in most cases use the pike. But it's an unfair nerf for all Awlpike-users, so I stepped into the breach for them

I didn't do the change but it was probably done because the model looks too heavy and long for 1hand use (that's what she said btw). I like the change to be honest. A RL awlpike is a dedicated 2h weapon if I am not mistakes and quite some people facepalmed when TW introduced it with shield use back in beta.

I think gameplay goes over look. Next to the fact that the Awlpike doesn't look havier than other spears of the same length

The awlpike is still long enough for people who want a touch more reach then the warspear, and is still usable with shield (with penalty). For spear + shield people, there is the warspear, no penalty with shield, quite effective stab (especially when heirloomed), and a usable weapon in 2h mode, as well (especially when heirloomed).

While spear+shield isn't exactly a dominating class... it still doesn't mean they need fantasy weapons to make them better.

I heard it was a direct stab (Pun Intended) at ATS for regulating too many clowns with the long awl pike!
