NA C-RPG GOLD TOURNAMENTS!

This thread is to announce the first official North American CRPG Gold tournament!!!

EU players are welcome to enter and participate, but this tournament will take place exclusively on NA servers. Depending upon the success and popularity of this tournament, it may become a regularly held event. This is how it is going to work:

There are 2 tournaments that teams may register for. The first is 5 man teams. The second is 10 man teams. People may register in both tournaments. The details of each tournament follow:

5 man teams tournament:
Entry Fee: 100k gold per team.
Teams may have a 5 man starting lineup with a maximum of 2 alternate characters(per team) listed.

10 man teams tournament:
Entry Fee: 200k gold per team.
Teams may have a 10 man starting lineup with a maximum of 4 alternate characters(per team) listed.

To enter your team into either tournament, you must PM me on the forums with your team lineup and alternates(if any), and purchase one of my 100k or 200k peasant items in the marketplace as your entry fee. You may find these items by searching for Heroin_ATS in the marketplace with no other filters toggled on. Players are limited to using the character who's name appears on the roster, and they may not switch between alternate characters who are not on said roster.

The tournament maps will be randomly selected, and fights will be in battle mode. Teams will fight to best of 3 on each of 3 maps. Whichever team wins 2 out of the 3 maps wins that bracket of the tournament and moves on. The other team is eliminated.

The top 2-4 teams in each tournament will receive a prize of in-game gold commensurate with the number of participants in the tournament. Tournament entrants will be contacted via PM to set up their battles. Failure to respond to the PM within 48 hours will forfeit the battle.

I encourage people that are able to do so to enter both tournaments. I considered doing only 10 man teams, but didn't want to exclude individuals, and small groups of friends. Help us make our first set of tournaments great!

Good question. I feel like a no gold limit (as a gold ceiling would favor certain builds) and a limit of 1/5 of the team maximum being mounted as well as a max of 2/5 or 3/5 of the team carrying any form of ranged seems fair to me.

There are no limits on equipment. Use what equipment and builds you like. It's a tactical decision. Use what works to win.

I haven't taken any money, but have a couple teams who have expressed interest. I've actually not received as much response on this as I had anticipated. I don't know if it's due to lack of exposure, or lack of interest.

Everyone goes tournament crazy when EU starts up their tourney craze, I am legitimately glad to see some NA activity.
