How come when you attack an unarmed troop they can conceal armour and weapons somehow? is there an button for this to display as unarmed but still have weapons and such?

When attacking with an unarmed army, they really are unarmed. So literally naked.

However, when you attack an unarmed army, they are automatically equipped with peasant gear.

That gear is bad compared to real gear, but that way it is assured that everybody has at least a small chance of defending themselves.
For all the non-believers, look no further than this thread for proof that while strat battles are won/lost in NA3/EU3, strat wars are won and lost on the forums.

Not to mention people can be reinforced and you can have totally crap gear and read as unarmed.

I've also had around 100 troops worth of shiny gear in an army of 1000 troops and read as unarmed because the the total spent when divided by the army size = square fuck all.

Fammi un pompino!

I think I have ball cancer in my right nut :(
Good news everybody! It's not nut cancer :)
