Spicing up sieges with "simple" mechanics.

I mean come on, who wouldn't like to throw rocks down the enemies while trying to get inside, or using pitch from a bowl to kill off some of the enemies.

Also, what about pulling away ALL the ladders? If you could do that while people are on the ladder, that would end up funny, but abusers would ruin it, and that's bad.  :?

What do you think, how could we spice up sieges?

It would be cool if ladders could be pushed down. But it would require more pushers than ppl on the ladder, otherwise ladders would become useless.

In my opinion the best way to fix siege would be map redesigns and variable spawn points.

For example, at the beginning everyone spawns around the outer walls. When the attackers take the walls, they now spawn on the walls and the defenders spawn further back. If the attackers re-take the walls the spawn points change again. You could perhaps do it with mini-flags or something. I think it would help make siege more dynamic, make it easier to use teamwork (especially on defense) and it would stop defenders from spawning in a sea of attackers.

Good idea, why don't you give it a try?

I think it would bre really great if we gave the maps a little more time, less respawn time for the defenders so we could make some siege towers, catapults, and rams! Would be really cool!

we need rams, destroyable and at the same time mechanism openable gates, meow's destroyable walls, extra time for setting up catapults and stuff, but still i think there should be some kind of option to drop ladders...

maybe on every siege map there is 1 weapon that's already there, and it's a stick with a hook on it so you can push a ladder off the wall. they really existed, though i can't find a pic :(

I heard between branches that we'll get Rams pretty soon  :D

For the spawn points, it's already being worked on, specially for Strategus so that there is no more spawn camping where people just get slaughter until the battle is over ...

Keep faith, and be patient :)
