I will start by saying that it takes a long time in life to grow up and get accepted and acknowledged as a good person. In fact, it is a ''work in progress'' for our whole life, but it takes only one misstep to blow it all up and make you start from scratches again. We could say, to some extent that the same applies here in cRPG...
It was a cold winter night here in Québec/Canada and as I was speaking with random people on teamspeak, Someone told us that you could log a second version of your character on another server by starting a second mount & blade.
It was not my first time multiboxing in a game so I figured I could give it a shot to see how it goes assuming at the moment that it was not prohibited.
So here I am, two screens up, two servers same character, I am lagging like hell, but I still try to play some rounds just to see if things get better..
Things didn't get better so after around 30 min I was like F#$% this, I can't even kill people decently now because I lag too much so I just closed both screens and restarted mount and blade and started playing normally again until I went to sleep. Little did I know that I was already (probably) targeted by the hammer of the law and when I came back from work the day after, I was surprised to see that my character Ishtar_SHinOCk_Qc had suffered such a blow to the head that he thought he was the first of his line and that he was only 16 years old. He did not remember that he was in fact 45 years old and third generation
End of the little story.
Now for the more serious stuff.
I'm not writing this letter with the intention of fooling anyone or minimizing what I've done. Sure there are some things I could say to my defence, but I won't even bring them up here because the point of this is to apologize to the community and the people that brought us this great mod (no ass licking here, it's just true)
The player's responsibility is to find and read about the code of conduct in a game, especially when you play a mod like this one with such a tight community that you end up playing side by side night after night with the same people.
I failed to do that and look where it got me... 300 hours of game play erased for my mistake. Is this too hard of a sanction? Nope, I think it's just right, I think it gives a great opportunity for redemption to the people who have made mistakes, but care enough about this game to write something in hope of a pardon.
So I will say again that I am truly sorry about what I've done and I hope people will see in me someone who really regrets instead of a cheating douche that only tries to bullshit everyone to get his stuff back.
Thank you for giving me the opportunity to repent and I'm sorry for my misuse of English (french Canadian here!)
