Because as we all know no one ever creates documents that twist facts to suit their agenda (except Iraq ofc). You may agree with the sentiment of the document or you may have 100% faith that it is true and proves the wrong doing of the FBI and Clintons and whoever else, but to simply pretend like the memo is infallible and isn't to be questioned is to fail to learn from the mistakes of the past. The FBI issued a rare public statement on the memo through their website on Wednesday.

"With regard to the House Intelligence Committee’s memorandum, the FBI was provided a limited opportunity to review this memo the day before the committee voted to release it," the statement read. "As expressed during our initial review, we have grave concerns about material omissions of fact that fundamentally impact the memo’s accuracy."

In the first two sentences of the document's final paragraph, its authors note that the application to monitor former Trump campaign foreign policy adviser Carter Page included a reference to another former campaign adviser, George Papadopoulos.

it goes on to confirm, in the next sentence, earlier reports that the same "information triggered the opening of an FBI counterintelligence investigation in late July 2016 by FBI agent Pete Strzok."
That the Papadopoulos "information" also played some role in helping to secure the FBI's desired warrant throws into doubt claims by House Intelligence Committee Chairman Devin Nunes and other Republicans that law enforcement officials leaned too heavily on the contents of a dossier funded, indirectly, by Hillary Clinton's campaign and the Democratic National Committee.

Representative Adam Schiff (D-Calif.), the top Democrat on the House Intelligence Committee, said the information released in the GOP memo Friday was “cherry picked” to present a misleading picture. He also countered that the FISA warrant would have been pursued without the Steele dossier.

"[The memo] cherry picks information from Director Mccabe’s testimony before our committee,"Schiff told reporters Friday. "What he was describing is that the FISA application relies on all of the components in the application, each and every component, and only in that sense is it fair to say that if you take out any piece of it then the application would not be complete.

The FBI has investigated the FBI and found no wrongdoing. No specifics of course, just vague allegations of cherrypicking, which could easily be proved if that was the case. It's crazy how FISA courts became nothing more than a rubber stamp for blatantly illegal acts. The surveillance program was never supposed to be used to spy on american citizens, much less for political purposes. I seriously feel like I'm living in a parralel universe, when democrats unironically defend intelligence agencies spying on american citizens because it benefits their political narrative. That Trump-Russia connection will be unveiled any day now, I'm sure of it.
