99.99% of every murican eats turkey on turkey day, while Christmas is much more of a toss-up. "Christmas ham" is the stereotypical dinner, however neither my family, nor anyone I know irl, actually has a ham on Christmas. My family has sauerbraten each and every Christmas, and boy is it tasty. Bronto nailed it on the desserts though, Thanksgiving is all "harvest-related" foods i.e. apple pie/cobbler/crisp/etc., pumpkin pie/bread, cranberry bread, one year someone made an overly-sweet squash dish for desert (was nasty though). Then Christmas is definitely all cookies with the occasional pie (usually not apple pie though, might be chocolate or pudding... more desert-y pies), sometimes a cheesecake or something... like the main dish Christmas deserts varies by family a lot more than Thanksgiving.
