I finally took my lazy ass the time to switch out my gpu to the 560ti i had saved. And indeed it was the 670 that had broken down. Will see if i have a reciept around so mabe i can get a refund or a new one.
Good luck :?

If not just pick up a 4GB 960. Not that expensive.

Can't believe there are inept developers out there who make games that can brick your GPU. I don't know how logical this sounds to you but if I were you, I would do whatever it takes to sue those damn bastards. This is inacceptable.

It's never the game's responsibility to protect your hardware. It's the driver's responsibility. That said, most games do not actually test those limits.

550w PSU is what i have, so anything that can go with that, read that 970 can, and since that seems to be a safe bet for future games too for not too much moolah, ill probably get one.

Still this is the first time I am hearing about a GPU-maiming game. Have there been any other examples?

Avoid AMD if you're worried about your PSU, they're notoriously power hungry. A 970 would be spot on but a 4GB 960 would be fine as well.

I've heard of games that have no FPS limit in their menus and those are simplistic and undemanding enough to make the FPS go sky-high. Dunno if that's the case here.

That is a common thing. Tallowmere is a good example. It is a very simplistic pixellated game, yet strains your rig so much occasionally. Same thing was observed with the very first Binding of Isaac game, which ran on Flash.

Based on Gravoth's first post, I did a little Google search and it looks like Rocket League is simply killing cards. That is something I personally haven't heard of before. You can Google yourself or just take a look at this Reddit post.

Space Engineers menu used to run into the thousands. I'm suspecting it's simple heat though. And I haven't heard of SE killing cards.
