Like I said, if it apparently is so "unplayable", why do you continue to use it?

I'm pretty sure that I never said that heavy armor was unplayable.  It's just not worth it from a purely performance-based standpoint.  The reason I sometimes wear heavy armor is solely because I like the look of the heraldic transitional set...that's why I 'loomed that set in the first place.  That doesn't change the fact that I perform better in my much lighter kuyak set though.
WSE2 gives us the key to a wonderful world of butthurt...

The goal of Strategus battles shouldnt be to deprive your enemies of players, but to have full roster both sides and have the gear/tactics/strategy win the day rather than lack of merc support.

who dafuq cares about the performance? I´m like never playing when there is a strat battle, I´m allways commanding and building stuff, I´m way more effective than everybody with a performance of 10 and so are like all my commander friends.

Just saying, whoever knows Tschinken knows that there is no forward spawn safe from him.

I have no idea how he is able to do it, but tell him which forward spawn he should destroy and after 5-10 minutes it´s down, I think u greys remember that in Ichamur? :D

Oh and btw as it seems PoisonedTail u have no idea how this game works. If you are str build u need IF. Which means you will be running and hitting faster when you´re in heavy armor.
So a 36 12 would be totally useless due the fact that there will be too less IF in it. You would be slower than earlier, doing probably not really more dmg and you would have way less HP. Fucking play some time before QQing in the forum about everything. If you can´t handle the new things in this mod, fucking learn it.

So making a simple suggestion about a virtual game on a computer will result in derogatory terms and death threats completely non related to the topic. Shows how mature this community is.

Putting your opinion anywhere, will result in infinite derogatory terms and death threats.

Well fact is, NA players are mostly casual normies not knowing mechanics & who would have no chance against competitive EU players on the same ping.

What has this to do with armour?

Back when Strat was actually being played actively all I used was light shit and had 10 performance.

Heavy armour is good the way it works. It might be a bit more expensive, since we all are getting a buttload of gold now after the recent patch, but it is exactly what is says on the tin (pun intented)
You glance often against it, and it slows you down quite a bit. Dunno why you should be able to cut through it like butter if you use a pair of scissors. It is >heavy< armour after all.

I hate fighting tincans cause I glance way too often (even more now with that stupid lag) but that is exactly what it should be used for. Reflecting hits.
For all the non-believers, look no further than this thread for proof that while strat battles are won/lost in NA3/EU3, strat wars are won and lost on the forums.

poisend,  you arent getting hate because of your suggestion or opinion (which kinda sucks too,  but thats ok), but because of you acting smug.  If you fail to see how or where you are doing so,  you might also pack some hate for being a dip.

that perception comes to me only by reading your post,  I have know idea who you are.  my post is meant as an opportunity of self reflection for you and not as an insult.

I always notice a marked drop in performance when I equip my +3 gothic plate with bevor over whatever "normal" heavy armor I'm using (as in, 20-24 weight range)

And I can still get 3 shot by a bec. Heavy armor got severely nerfed as I understand it - used to be you HAD to have a blunt/pierce weapon to even do damage to it. Not the case anymore.

I forgot to mention that upkeep nowadays is virtually nonexistent. I have a friend who just started Crpg. He immediately bought all plate armor with a 13k gold sword. With all this, he still makes a gold profit.
Your friend probably has beginner's luck and wins most rounds he plays on in battle, hence the low upkeep.

This is not how I remember it. What was changed ages ago was the amount of soak and reduce armor gives. Soak was decreased so even cut weapons can at least deal some damage on a good hit and not randomly bounce. In compensation reduce was increased so the amount of damage is smaller that gets through. Aim was to have overall the same amount of protection just with less random bounces. Furthermore part of the randomness itself in raw damage calc was reduced by cmp iirc. Maybe there had been further changes but I don't remember them or those were past my time.
