Read This for the Love of God

This post is probably going to upset a lot of people, but I am tired of seeing posts about requests for changes. So let's begin.

M0d is dead (your filters cant stop me). That is pretty damn obvious but it is not because there isn't interest from players with the game, it is because there are no developers who are going to work on it. It has been about two months with no official hot-patch for the "patch of destiny", when fixes come within a few weeks at most. Considering there hasn't been any official patches then it is safe to say they haven't been working on any new content either. That also means any requests you guys have are probably not going to be considered because nobody has the time or patience to do anything on the dev team. Even the requests to convert to old cRPG will be overlooked and would probably be detrimental to the potential player base (will talk about that later). So for the last time NO NEW CONTENT IS COMING YOUR WAY, get used to it and accept it for what it is.

Now I do have a few theories as to why the "patch of destiny" is the last patch, but I could be completely wrong. The last patch was really oriented around helping out newer players. The free respecs and easier leveling really helps out the newbies more than the older and more experienced players. That makes this patch perfect to just leave it as it is and kinda forget about it. New players can come and not be demolished by more experienced players so the player base can grow a little bit. This patch could essentially be described as self sustaining, it doesn't really need balancing from a newbies stand point or anymore content. Again, this is a theory not fact so don't take anything I say as the truth. It is just my perspective of the situation and you can take what you want from it.

Why old cRPG won't come back: It is based around the fact that kills will give you more money and exp, which means you need to get kills to advance in the game. This is probably one of the worst systems for getting a larger and newer player base because you destroy all chances of the newbies getting any advancement. That is why it was most likely done away with in the first place. It only lets the rich get richer so to speak.

Please don't get any jimmies rustled over this post. I stand by the statement that I could be completely wrong. In fact if any dev would like to disprove me on any of these statements I would be stoked. I'm pretty sure everybody would like a god damn update on whatever the fuck is happening in this mod's development, not just me. I feel kicked under the rug as a player of this game for not being informed of what is going on. If M:BG is going to consume everyone's time now that's fine, just fucking say something so the players are not in the dark. See you all in the chamber of tears.

This is so true. In my eyes the first version of cRPG has always been metaphorical critic of capitalism, something like Godfather 2.

Don't forget lads that peasants could just follow and support the big knights (like in real life as squires) and rack up all the proximity exp and gold from team kills. You didn't need to kill anyone as long as you were fairly near the fighting. I personally want this old system back, for those of us that played with it I think for the most part, enjoyed it more than the multi.

You can state these things but that does not make them true. The game is in a pretty damn playable state, probably as good as it ever has been, and the times between big patches have often been like half a year or so, but that didn't stop 500 people from being online at primetime in 2011. In 2012 this became 400, in 2013 this went down to 300 and now we are at 120 or lower. How does this consistent decline in player numbers over the years not signal a reduction of interest from players in the game? Get out of denial mode, the mod is old, the influx of new players is nearly non-existant and people don't hang around for half a decade consistently. The mod cannot be saved by some magical new surge of dev interest, I don't know how you can even fool yourself to think that. Mod is dying of old age, simple as that.

Nah, you got rewarded from staying near the fighting and staying alive, which was pretty easy if you got a shield. This system restricted gameplay because no xp/gold was rewarded for people far from the fight, but it still was miles better for gameplay and enjoyability than the multi, especially if it was tweaked a little. This is one of few big mistakes made by the devs, not doing away with the shitty multiplier system sooner, which was a placeholder originally I think.

This system restricted gameplay because no xp/gold was rewarded for people far from the fight

It made perfect sense, because strongest battle classes like cavalry and ranged were rewarded less while underpowered infantry got XP bonus. Also ninjas were on the short side, but never liked those mofos myself :D
