Ok,

I know that this has been suggested in game a hell of a lot and I liked the idea, thus deciding to spearhead a suggestion thread!

Basically, to integrate the auto-balance to be able to cope with "primary wpf". Thus if someone has a lot of wpf in archery, they are classed as an archer, same for all other classes. Then, take each player by their "skill rating" and distribute along with banners to give nice balanced teams with a decent amount of every class each round.
Personally I think that this should be a tier 2 balance variable, what I mean is that it primarily balances by "skill level" of each player, a tier 1 variable and moves to banner balance and character class as tier 2.

I think you get the general idea, just a short summary of what i'd like to see being done, I think it would help in some areas where one team, no matter how good the players might be, don't have any cav/archers/infantry etc etc and thus get slaughtered.

I have searched for a similar thread, couldn't find anything, but then I could be useless at using a search bar!

I'm surprised at the total lack of anything here to be honest, with the number of people complaining "One side has too many archers" or "They're winning because they have all the cav!" i'm rather shocked!  :rolleyes:

But then I did post at 4 in the morning :S

Well, I didn't read this until now but I agree with this idea :)
But what do you mean by skill? The skills of the character or the person playing it?
Is it even possible to balance the teams with the wpf of the players?

However I think banner balance should come before anything else.

"Primary wpf" isn't enough, since you can't differentiate a poelarm user from a lancing cav.
Instead of looking at stats, why not look at their equipment ? (if horse and bow : ha, if horse and melee : cav, if no horse but a bow : archer, if no horse nor bow : infantry.

I disagree with Riddaren though, banner balance should be 2nd to the main balance. If you have a good cav clan joining with 8 members, it will defnitely imbalance the map if all of them are in the same team.

Well I suppose that there can be something to collect statistics about which weapons and armour you use the most, thus pin pointing you as that specific class but I guess that would have to be backed up by the wpf in a certain area otherwise you'll run around with a polearm while using a normal bow (1 pd) but you'll have full wpf in polearms fooling the thing. (Not sure why you would want to but it's still a possibility.)

I am also glad that people replied to this, I was starting to think it was a bad idea xD I suppose I should be less nocturnal.
