Faction auto-changed??

I've been sitting at New Bardaq Castle for a couple days now, and I got on strat today to see that my faction changed by itself to the Kalmar Union?? (was squids) and i'm unable to leave the faction, as the faction page loads as a blank sheet. Anyone know how to fix?
