Fix time on the ground and also blocking

Why does getting up after being dehorsed takes so long? One person ran about 20 feet and stabbed me and ran back before I got up. Please decrease the time on the ground.

And also add blocking with 1h/ small 2hs and poles.

You need proper time to mourn the loss of your horse. That is why you are on the ground so long.

I've been playing cav on my main for the last 10 generations, and I think it's fine as is.

The fact that people don't take damage from getting dismounted is enough to warrant the time it takes to get back up.  Dread definitely explained it pretty well the last time this was brought up.

Ya sounds good if your fucjed in the head, Christ most people either die or break some shit while being dismounted. Christ it crippled superman

Why don't you die when you land on the floor? Would make more sense and be more balanced

Half the time you slide along and then teleport a mile away. Half the time your body is protected by the dead horse. This is all after you've been holding W while aiming at people for easy bump slashes or charging kills. Not you in particular but cav needs to have some downsides. A little timeout on the floor is a small sacrifice to make
If you have ranged troubles use this:

Lets get armor weight in the equation - the more you weigh the longer it takes to get up.

Stop with the stupid why doesn't cav take damage while falling from horse argument.  Why doesn't a 1 her break it's arm when stabbing a horse charging right at it.  You have literally no chance in piercing the horses skull, so the force isn't going through the horse, it's coming back at you.  Horses are big animals with tougher skin, denser bones and muscles, and also more basic instincts.  Getting stabbed in the face would hurry a horse, but most likely not kill it.  He'll, you shouldn't even be able to rear a horse with anything but a chest hit.  Why doesn't the 800lb horse's body crush you instead of phasing through you?

Try falling off a galloping horse thats stopped suddenly ie by being speared. Lucky to get up at all.

Try getting run over by a horse, dead or alive and not breaking every bone in your body.  Hell, if a fully armored man fell off a horse and hit you, it would be pretty damaging as well.

Horses wouldnt charge man with spear anyway and 1 on 1 would move round to avoid, of course rider could still attack.

Charges that went home were where horses were blocked in ie by horses each side and behind.

So have solo riders horses manouever to avoid charging home, increase fall damage and charge damage massively (ie if someone dodges into path) and add bite attack for horses which I have been on the wrong end of v scary (plus maybe front leg kicks) for more realism which will actually stop 95% of horse bumps or live with current system which is unrealistic but deliberately so for balance.

However if you could get 5-10 heavy cav to charge in line would be devastating and pretty awesome to see with more realistic charge damage. Riders of Rohan at helms deep time.

Horses don't know what a spear is.  To them it's no different than a sword or anything else.  In fact, they have somewhat poor vision head on, being a non-predator and all.  All they see is a man.

Also formation riding isn't very good in this game, because horses come to a dead halt if they run in to just about anything.  In fact, it's shorter list what doesn't stop a horse completely, and that's only infantry.

Oh good god just read murdertrons post. Prey animals cant see? Horses cant look forward at all?  Cant recognise objects pointed towards them? Jesus h Christ. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Equine_vision Please read this simple link explaining their visual acuity is better than a dogs and they have a 65 degree range of binocular vision head on. Of course you probably think dogs cant recognise sticks etc.

As someone who has ridden horses since a kid and had to deal with them hundreds of times while playing cricket in the new forest where they roam loose (look it up if you dont believe me) I have personal experience of this. Approach a stallion with a long stick, whip or electric prod thats in a right strop and they shy away. Without and they often wont. Unlike you I've actually done these things. Will not post again on a discussion you obviously know nothing about.

Does anybody else sometimes see knocked down people perform actions (such as blocking) while half-standing up in a glitchy fashion?  It seems sometimes people get up ultra-fast from being knocked down.

2 and I call it "the secret."  We don't know the secret.
