For me strat is just battles(exp) and i dont care about the drama going on here. Normally it's really fun for me but i want to show you few things.

1) When i asked to an admin he said ''it's allowed''.

2)I don't know if this is allowed or not but looks like noone cares...

Everyone uses this ladder thing. Probably i wont join siege battles anymore. I hope there will be a rule about this.

The goal of Strategus battles shouldnt be to deprive your enemies of players, but to have full roster both sides and have the gear/tactics/strategy win the day rather than lack of merc support.

while 1) would not be nessary if Forward spawn would not just be able to be shot down in no time with 2) i was already last year arguing that it should be forbidden.

F.e. the Jelbegi castle attack the day befor and others, you have not that many wall segments in comparison to other castles, only few possible ladder entry points. When then those entry points are from the inside out, already blocked by ladders, laddering becomes impossible and that out of my point of view is total bullshit.

simple rule should be:
Defender are not allowed to use ladders on the walls towards the outside.

I do see it fit for attackers to make interconenctions inebtween structure within a castle or a town, to reach palces or reach them more easily, but hell a ladder on a wall, which is like 9/10 into the air, where then defender ranged are nearly untargetable while they can shoot anything outside to pieces all the time. Thats fucked up.

I agree, there's some castle walls (Rindyar is another one) that are so steep below that there's only a few places where the walls can be entered from the outside.  The defenders can easily block off those points by throwing ladders above to the outside (or even connecting one part of their walls to another).  They should make a rule preventing that, but I doubt it will happen.

Also the 3rd spoiler picture has an illegal ladder on it.  You can't throw a ladder while on another ladder.  There is clearly 2 ladders connected by another ladder.  So admin was wrong about that (if asked specifically).

these ladders make Strategus completely uninteresting to me. 2 battles to waste my time. Edit some rules realistic, for attackers as defenders.

I don't speak about ladders and siege tower totally bugged. These problems are more difficult to resolve. But for the ladders, i think we need some rules.

I saw many nerfs for nothing, but ladders are again allowed. To stop cav, or reasons discussed in pics.

A ladder, it is just for climb the walls. Please.

You know what ? I can agree with you about ladders, but the funniest/saddest thing is when someone else [without names now] told you about this problem, nearly everyone said that everything is in order, no problemo, point of support, "triangles" bla bla bla.

Thats fucked up.
Exactly. Totally fucked up dual mentality. Hypocrites.  :(

thats rich  coming from those who use this type of laddering excessivly

Also while i did not make quite that fuzz the last time

I am now for a rule introduction, that denfenders would not be allowed to put ladders onto the walls from the inside towards the outside of the castle
as it is
a) bugging wall segments so people could not ladder up anymore from the outside and by that taking away the purpose of siege gear of teh attackers
b) it is unrealistic in terms of physics
c) it takes away atmophere and makes castles look realy awkward

or do you want also to claim, that its more a lack of tactics and management

Some weird shit going on at sieges nowadays. Probably it was always like that but this time i'm kinda interested. So here is the thing. You can't destroy ladders with  arrows but you can destroy a freakin catapult. How about adding Balista in strat which can destroy both ladders and catapults?

It has always been like this and will stay this way until mod dies probably.

Now the 2nd pictures of ladders has a strategic purpose of stopping enemy siege towers from landing on the walls. Which has saved my castle once or twice.

About ladders, the only forbidden ones are those which have their base off the ground or on other siege equipment.
Skyladder = a ladder which is either on top or another ladder, or have its base floating mid-air (after other ladders have been destroyed) = forbidden

As long as a ladder is placed on the map ground its ok (not covering flags).

I found ladder use slightly disturbing at first too, even retarded, but as long as both side can use it to the same effects its equally "stupid" and have the merit to open up additionnal tactics :

- defensively : protect siege equipment from projectiles/attacks - block paths (ladder/players/moving siege equipment) - slow down paths (on the ground)

- offensively : adds additional pathways (inner ladder network) - adds additional angle of fire (outward ladder network) - counter-attack ladders (player drop-bomb tactic)

If we were forbidden to use ladders in anything else than scaling walls from attack side, as reality would suggest, we could just forbid ladders from defense side in siege battles, but it would end up severely buffing attacks on castles/cities which are not that easy to defend if you forbid retarded ladders.

I would be all for tweaking how ladders and siege equipment in general behave, but it would need to be done with compromise made to help defenders/survivability of siege equipment so that the balance of attack/defense (open field or siege) is not too heavily modified.
