Playing as melee this gen, and I can barely find any overwhelming ranged like you people complain about.

Its not a huge problem anymore. Sometimes there is a large number of ranged online and autobalance de ides to put them all in one team but otherwise its ok.
But same problem is with cav overflow sometimes.

So my suggestion: get one of those buffed shields
