Iron Mike
And now he can't play because of "common sense" and he doesn't understand how this common sense works

Tyson in his prime, no contest.
Meaning lies as much
in the mind of the reader
as in the Haiku.

for me the best boxers in history (they met in the same period)
were:

1Muhammad Ali
2 George Foreman
3 Joe Frazier

that is that it was the golden era of boxing

Mike Tyson 1985 to 1990 was the absolute ruler of the ring ..... great boxer

Some of my favorite boxers in no particular order:

David Tua: iron chin and amazing power, short guy and very dangerous at close range , a bit "unlucky" that he never won any world title, considering that he  defeated/knocked out some boxers who later became champions of one of the most important titles (WBO-WBA-WBC-IBF).
"David Tua will remain one of the best heavyweights never to win a world title"

Tommy Morrison: Great left hook: fast, accurate and powerful; good timing, head-torso movements and combinations (imo).
He was forced to retire from boxing in 1996 when he was only 26, after he tested positive for HIV (years later he claimed that he never had HIV, that it was a "false positive" result , he also said that he did other tests in which he resulted negative for HIV, he died few months ago probably because of "Guillain–Barré syndrome", some people say that he had AIDS, who knows ). From what i heard Morrison was supposed to fight Mike Tyson, too bad the fight never happened.

Mike Tyson: very  fast and powerful with both hands, good technique and footwork, he knew how to close the distance very well imo, awesome  reflexes, "bob and weaving" head-torso movements, he won the world title when he was only 20 years old, the youngest heavyweight champion in boxing's history(also one of the shortest heavyweight champions, he was only 178-180 cm tall).  I think Tyson's skills started to get worse after his trainer and mentor Cus D'Amato died, maybe he was one of the few person  who could keep Tyson on track.

Rocky Marciano: a legend, the only undefeated heavyweight champion of the world: 49 fights, no losses, 43 kos  . Nowdays he woulnd't even be a heavyweight, because he weighted around 85-86 kg if i remember well.    I guess that the cruiserweight division didn't exist back then.

There are many other boxers i like: Lennox lewis, Holyfield, Ray mercer, George Foreman, the Klitschko brothers, David Haye, Joe calzaghe, Carl Froch, Mikkel Kessler, Ricky Hatton, Pacquiao, Sergio Martinez, Krzysztof Wlodarczyk (unpronouncable name, had to search the name of his opponent to find it lol), also liked Adamek a lot when he was a cruiserweight.  and many more

A  fight that impressed me was Froch vs Jermain taylor, well i din't really enjoy the match very much, because  if i remeber well it was a one-way fight, Taylor was dominating pretty much every round, until Froch did an awesome comeback and kncocked him out in the last minute of the 12th round.   Froch showed great heart, he believed in himself till the end, I thought Taylor was going to win by unanimous decision.

Also  David tua Vs Ike Ibeabuchi
"After winning 16 straight fights against club fighters and journeymen, Ike made a big jump in competition and fought undefeated prospect David Tua for the WBC International Heavyweight title on June 7, 1997. Tua was 27-0 and considered by many analysts to be the "next Tyson.
The fight was nothing short of spectacular. Both threw bombs and neither took a backward step all night. They set a heavyweight record with 1,730 punches thrown. Ike also set the individual record by throwing 975 punches and averaging 81 per round. The heavyweight average is around 50. He won by a unanimous decision with scores of 117-111, 116-113, and 115-114. The fight established Ibeabuchi as a top contender."
