Is it just me, my settings, maybe my connection [which was good yesterday] or something with servers ? I mean I can swear that I had a few situations like my blow goes through the body of my enemy and nothing happens.

I have the exact opposite problem. I keep seeing hits (mine and other peoples) hitting from ranges they should not hit from.
