NA servers routing issue (recent permanent ping increase)

My ping to the NA servers jumped by ~20ms a couple of weeks ago, and it's quite inconsistent now too (+/- 10ms). I've talked to a lot of other NA players that experienced the same thing, so I started doing a little investigating. Here's a pathping from my location to the Chicago servers, with the first couple hops obscured for privacy reasons:

It's a little hard to interpret locations of all those hops, but it looks like it's going from my location (mid atlantic) to Atlanta to DC to Chicago.

Here's a pathping from the same physical location using a different ISP. Routing is much more direct, mid atlantic to DC to Chicago. This is more consistent with my old ping.

I'm not sure if the Telia routers (in Atlanta?) are the common denominator for everyone that is experiencing this issue, so I am asking for your help. If you are a NA player that has noticed a permanent ping jump in the last few weeks, please open a command prompt and type:

pathping 74.91.113.155

Then wait like 5 minutes for the test to complete, and please post your results (obscure first few hops for privacy).

If the Telia routers are indeed the common denominator, I'm open to ideas for how to fix this (a suitable proxy that avoids the Telia hops, asking my ISP to stop routing stuff 1000 miles out of the way, etc).

Thanks in advance
