Launcher fails to update - can't play

When I try to play from the launcher I get this.  I can still get in game but get instantly kicked from servers because my version is too old.  I installed a new wireless router a while back and have been fine until just recently but maybe there weren't any significant updates since then, I don't know.  But is there a port I failed to open that isn't letting the launcher get to the remote server to get updates?  I've tried running it with repair and get the same thing.  HELP!!!

EDIT:  Forgot to mention, launcher is version 0.8.14, which I thought was the up to date one?

maybe the server to which you want to connect has not been updated new patch

Well the problem is my launcher isn't able to connect to a mirror to update the game, which allot of people would be complaining about if it was a public problem, which makes me think it must be a problem on my end

Update: I tried updating from the launcher from my university's network and it worked.  So the problem must be in my home network router not having ports setup correctly.  Anyone know anything about setting this up correctly?
