clan bank - payout fee

Awkay so I deposited 1 139 160 gold in the clan bank but that time I didn't know I would have to pay 5% fee while taking money out from clan bank. If I wanted to take thy money back it would cost me 57k... This is stupid it shouldn't work like that, at least not when you are taking your own monies back.

Wat do you think people?

Since gold is created constantly, the economy has to be regulated to prevent massive inflation.  They are solving some of this by taxing 5% on all transfers.  It's unfortunate that you did not read the rules, but we really need that 5% tax in place, otherwise we may as well go back to the days of everyone in full plate riding plated chargers.

Why don't they tax me 10% for transfering my own gold to my own alts then? Wouldn't it help economy? Also they could deliver a free groin-kick so I'm encouraged even more .

The problem is determining which gold is yours, technically once you've paid it into the clan bank it's the clans money not yours. Going between your alts is the same gold, which has come from your cd-key and couldn't have come from anywhere else.

One thing I always found annoying is that you can't bid on a banner as a clan (using the clan bank). You have to withdraw the money to your personal character, paying the fee, to then bid on a banner which is effectively just taking 150-200k out of the system. Any money you take out over the cost you either have to keep or put back in the bank to pay the fee on once again.

While we might be able to figure out if it is your gold and skip the tax it is not really worth the effort imo. Allowing clans to bid on banners is something i would like to do but not going to happen anytime soon.

When was that ? I've been playing cRPG since september 2010, if anything we had more peasants in those times. Also, so few heirloomed items even having a +1 was special.

I am very thankful for your response. 57k tax isn't going to kill me but I just don't like the feeling that whatever we do is taxed. It makes me feel that the progress I make with my character is being minimalised by whatever surrounds me.

Getting response from developer, even if it's two lines, is always appreciated a lot.

You should probably go ahead and change your name to JewKnight.

Ehm, I was there in dec 2010 and the server was pretty much filled with plate and 20% non plate who were just saving up for plate. Not saying that upkeep has really been a factor of consideration for me when picking gear.

Dude.. If the 5% tax would be removed ppl wouldn't go full plate.

Not even close. Although it was probably going to happen for melee classes after a while.
