It really shouldn't matter how large the polearm is - it's behind you. I can't think of any reason why things on your back should ever block your view.

Ideally I think that anything behind your character's eyes (particularly things on your back) should be rendered with some degree of transparency. This would also help alleviate the awful situation of trying to block with your back to a wall.

The long axes and long bardiches metal part begin at your shoulder area and the wooden shaft goes down towards your feet, they do not go into the reticule iirc.

But yes, the smaller ones do need to be moved somehow. I don't like the mirroring idea (that would just look weird after playing polearmer for so long.) , how about we just move them down 2-3 feet like the long bardiche and long axe?

I was running around with GLA and long bardiche a lot as they dont block the view. At some point i wanted to use some of the longer spears, yet its impractical. I wouldnt want anything to change for the pure polearm players because style matters.

It would be pretty neat if the top part of a polearm strapped to your back would fade to invisible as you equip a ranged weapon. The code is already there as bots who retreat in single player do this kind of fading away when they reach the border of the map.

Please devs, whoever is left working for cRPG, I would really love to use poles as a sidearm and still be able to see what I am shooting at.

This is what I was referring to with "mirroring alignment" in my other posts. Can some really nice dev please give poles the same alignment as bows "if - bow equipped = true" or something like that ? I aint no dev but it looks to me, as far as my limited game editing knowledge allows, that it can be done with a few mouseclicks by just changing some "flags". I would respec into pole hybrid this instant.

The only problem is that people will start to exploit this to see through thin walls.  I like the idea for weapon transparency.  Although, the secondary idea may have some odd consequences.

That, and the question would come up as to when the weapon would go transparent.  While holding a ranged weapon of some sort?  When you get close enough to the back of the characters?  Or all the time?  (All the time would be silly if you ask me)

Your weapon goes semitransparent when you use weapon trails, should be easy enough to implement.
