Shouldn't I be able to change my name whenever I want, or at least to whatever I want?

Since when did people start to care about their internet reputation? 

My goal is to reach -1000 points by not being biased towards any items or build in the mod.. its working so far.

Only way to reach a good reputation in here is to agree with everyone lmao

For real though, I have a neutral reputation.  I don't tk or use ladders in strange ways...but I don't play particularly well either.  I am in a clan, but I doubt anyone else even knows who I am.

Is it possible to apply for a name change through alternative means?  I mean, if the main reason for strict name change rules is a concern over reputation...I think that particular concern does not apply to me.  Right?

Otherwise I'll just have to make a new char..and forgo my 2nd gen guy.
Believe it or not, that 2nd gen took me a looong time to obtain, as a casual player.

Nothing is wrong with my current name, but I want to pick an old handle of mine.  Now that a couple of my fiends joined the mod, I want to change my name to what they recognize me as.  Plus, I want to change my name to match my new gen's playstyle (1h/shield).

What is wrong with that?

Think about it...if a player has a nasty reputation, and is allowed to change his name..what happens?  He either gets a fresh start, and a chance to play nice (good), or he is trusted as a new player for what, a couple days?  THen people will see he's an asshole as he tks or whatever he does to get a bad rep.  That's not that bad either.

In the meantime, those with good reputations or those with neutral ones have very strict rules imposed upon them in regards to names, and they have to start a new character if they want to switch names.  See my position here?
