Is there no way to make an alt a main?

My STF ended up as my main in the past when I was new and didn't know what it meant. So I just recently made a new character that would start from scratch and be my new main. Well I almost reached 31, and deleted my STF main to make my 31 my new main for the sole purpose of selling the loompoint. Well apparently I can't do this and just wasted 2 weeks with this character that can't access the market, and I no longer have my STF anymore. Honestly i'm about to give up. Am I just fucked?

Reset the role on it since you had no gen2 char.
You can now make it your main.

Please be aware that this is a onetime thing and from now on if you want to switch your main char, you will need to delete the old main and create a fresh level 1 character to make the new one.

Ive deleted my main, but my alt cannot be main... it has no button to reset it...
HALP
