Do you have a favorite recipe for goulash? After checking wikipedia I realize it is like chili - there are many variations and everyone has their own favorite style...

All the stuff you posted so far looks great! I wish we had a Turkish restaurant in my city!

irl something shorted on the shuttle and laika overheated and died within a few hours of liftoff and for a brief while one could look up to the stars and see a light shooting across the sky that was actually a warm dog corpse slingshoting about the earth at thousands of miles per hour which was arguably humanity's greatest achievement so far

Goulash is not Hungarian food

Bullshit.

While foreigners make it differently, the whole thing and the traditional way of making it comes from here.

Originally it is a soup, but what you folks call it is more like the stuff we call "Pörkölt", that is more solid and not soup-like.

It's still something discussed afaik. Since the recipe is older than the country borders... but yea, normally Goulash is considered to be of Hungarian decent. An old shepherds meal afaik.
When west germany annexed east germany, nobody moved a finger too.

I wish we had a Turkish restaurant in my city!

Prepare with an ample supply of air fresheners.

Regarding Goulash:
As a Hungarian living in Sweden I absolutely abhor how they call it "Ungersk gulasch" when it is by far not even close to resemble true Hungarian goulash. Hungarian goulash is more of a stew, with smoked swine meat, root vegetables and Hungarian dumplings. A true goulash is determined by the ingredients and the preparation.

What many of Europeans experience when they eat Goulash is more of an adaptation of goulash, and is more often a soup than a stew.

I truly recommend you try real goulash in Hungary. :)

Stew, yes, yes.
