So, my banner looks like this:

Now, people keep asking about banner template address and banner sizes. You can get a white banner as template from
http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/jj52/eXperT_2008/test2j.png but it will need to be resized. The size cRPG needs banners to be is 132x340 (the one I linked is 140x342).
However, the way I do banners is that I just have a three layer image I can put shit to and then export it as .png and upload. I will link a GIMP .xcf file and a GIMP exported (so it might not work) Photoshop .psd file for it.
Basically it has three layers. The bottom one contains the red and yellow I have as background. The middle one contains the peacock and the top one contains the above linked image template with partial transparency, increased contrast and decreased brightness.
At easiest you can just clear the middle layer, paste your own image there and then recolor the bottom layer and tada, you have a banner. If you don't like the banner effect you can edit the top layer by tweaking transparency/contrast/brightness. Ingame almost every kind of banner effect or lack of them looks decent though because the shield/armor textures roughen them up a bit anyway.
Then export to .png and upload.
Get the three layer thing from here:
