The thrust does more damage than the swing. Remember that in fights, people never seem to fully concentrate on blocking staff thrusts.

hihi yes that was in between my weaboo playstyles :3 love that build but i can't seem to play 2h any more ... nowdays im back to heavy strange armor and heavy g's

i always played more on the str side, never like agi builds or playstyle.

im goin for 27/12  9if, 9ps, 4ath, 1wm

I'll double check but I'm pretty sure I had all those points by 31 then just ground to 32.

Ran with an Iron Staff for about 2 gens.

Notice on the Quarter (and Iron):  THE STAB DOES HIGHER DAMAGE.  Use it often, aim for the face.

Yes, always aim for the face. And don't forget that even at 18 str/6PS you can get knockdowns around  20% of the time (personal experience). I know I've had whole rounds where every other hit I land knocks someone down.

I went 27/12 and it was very, very good.
Could spam almost everyone, did surprisingly high damage, I often killed people outright when I knocked them down, hit them, kicked them then hit them again; knockdown also has a pretty damn good chance (when you have a free hit, stab; does more damage. I didn't realise this for quite some time haha). Destroys armoured targets, aim for weak-spots (generally they have low body armour, face is always a good option though)
Very nice length on all swings, especially right.
Very cheap, 1 slot.
Also I found I glanced very, very little to not at all unless I completely screwed the swing up.

Well, here is my personal build that I've ran with about 3 years now, not sure if it's any help, though. As you can see I've gone all over the place with some of the stats.
Been using +3 Iron staff myself, which is shorter and has bigger damage. I also go with peasant tier clothes so I can run away from fight any time I want. Remember to do lots of jumping, jump attacks look cool.

15/27 but make sure you use lordly heavy/plate armor.
