I'm not ranged so I didn't vote.
I play cavalry in first person (go to 3rd when not engaging enemies) and I tried to bump both up to 85 FOV and it just makes me think I'm looking down a hallway with a telescope. It's so much harder to judge distance than in 75 and just looks generally terrible as far as depth perception goes.
It's f*cking awesome being able to see farther out to your sides, but if it completely fucks up your depth perception then I fail to see the benefit. I just leave mine at 75 since the extra inch or so on each side isn't worth not being able to accurately judge how far away people are (in tiny increments mind you).
Also something interesting I noticed, I changed my FOV to 85 and depth perception was fucked, I changed it back to 75 and the FOV changed back, but the depth perception was still fucked up (made me think I was a walleye with the view). So I think it definitely is something to be tweaked very conservatively.
