Heirloom question

Hey i am currently level 26 and use sword/throwing weapons when i get to level 31 and retire i wish to become an archer, and would like to heirloom the longbow will i be able to heirloom it even though i can not currently use it as i have no power draw ?

Yes, you will be able to heirloom it no matter what skills your current character has. The only thing you need is the bow itself, so be sure to buy it first before retirement.
If I wore a kilt, I wouldn't wear highly polished shoes.

...No, that's wrong. You need to have the skills required to use it before you heirloom it, otherwise it won't even appear as an eligible item to heirloom.
This is why you have to plan accordingly...for example:

You want to have some heirloomed items when you play as an archer? Play 2 generations as another build so that you can have triple-heirloomed arrows (bodkin recommended) the gen of your archer build.

First two replies = bullshit.

EliteDragon is right. You need to be able to use the item you want to heirloom. For Longbow, you need 6PD. BTW Longbow is shit atm...
