I bought Gilded Hourglass Gauntlets they are cool. I like the look of them and they perfectly fit my parrot armor (archon's) i look sexy in them and 30k gear cost is nothing. :D

Trying to figure out what gloves to wear? Check this topic: Optimal Glove Choices

Full disclosure: I wrote it.

It can help settle the 'which gloves are best for my build/budget/play-style?' question.

As far as build cost goes, I've usually found that low 40's (roughly 42k) lets an average player break even. You can afford more if you or your banner-mates influence the results enough that you win more than 50% of the time, or if you can get valour. The problem is: you need a pretty significant bankroll to run a break-even build. Eventually the random swings will lead to a string of bad 'luck' which could make you broke. I would probably want at least 100k in the bank before I tried it. If you don't have (or can't afford to lose) that much, then build cheaper.

I like wisby gloves personally the weight/armor is a good combo if I'm worried about WPF for any reason.  Honestly any boots above Rus Cav just seem like throwing money down the toilet for the amount of protection they give.

I have the mentioned 39k cost equipment and I periodically lose quite some money occasionally, but in the long run I am slowly earning. You need to have a 20k buffer. I do get a lot of valour though, but if you play with a lot of other Byzantines the multiplier should not be that bad anyway.

Good choice. Heavy gauntlets are a luxury (except for pugilists, who require them). Scale Gauntlets are my personal favorite, since they are the highest armor choice before the slope of the armor vs. weight curve increases.

Since the last patch, it's worth noting that my prior post is no longer valid. Wisby Gauntlets are now the highest armor choice before the slope of the armor vs. weight curve increases. In fact, the slope is zero at Wisby, since they weigh the same as Mail Gauntlets. I dropped from Scale down to Wisby for now, but I am a hybrid 1h/thrower, so hand armor weight matters more to me. If you don't throw/shoot, wear the heaviest gloves you can afford.

38k total gear cost here

2673 max upkeep, with the heavy hitters being 1114 for my danish and 929 for my armor, either one of those breaking tends to wipe any hope of profit for that round.

Overall I tend to slowly lose gold, barring a good run of x5, but then again I play mostly siege, so longer rounds and more breakage chances
