Those last months i made several posts, with arguments of course, to show how NOT funny the situation on crpg_1 is.
In answer from players, i had posts like "L2P NUB" or just affirmations without any arguments to prove their view, and none from devs/admin or whatever (apart from paul in a laconic post who said that the amount of cav/archers on eu_1 is totally ok (i would rather have no answer)). So no, you can't have any serious discussions on this forum.
And about the thread, just come and play 1 or 2 hours on EU_1. I defy anyone playing infantry to say pure stupid bullshits like "the amount of cav/archers on eu_1 is totally ok".

I'm sorry that you are running around with a 2h or Polearm and (no ranged or shield) and you cry because you are vulnerable to ranged.

I'm a shielder and darmaster is an hoplite (so he has a shield) ;)

That's the way the game works.  You can lessen your weaknesses by sticking with teammates (preferably ones with shields or ranged weapons).   Or you can keep doing the same thing over and over, and crying when the same result happens every time.

Well, that's useless when 5 or more HA/lancers are turning around you ...
I played at the same time as darmaster this afternoon, so i can explain what made him that angry : On one of chagan map, something like 15-20 of us were still alive, about 6 in the ennemie team. What happened? We stuck together, as you adviced, but the only players remaing in the other were lancers/HA and 1 ranged. At the end, we all died while 3 of them were still alive. We had some pikemen and ranged, but ranged got shot to piece by HA and pikes were unable to catch cav (they weren't bad, just that cav can dodge/avoid pikes pretty easily when they use an arabian).
This situation was not the only one of course, just showing by one exemple how it is to "play" crpg nowadays

That's life. Oh wait, it's a game.

Your argument might be you have a shield. Even with a shield that does not mean you cannot die! Not sure if you understand that, but usually whenever I'm attacking a shielder with my HA char I can only kill him on close range when he tries to stab me. Either he stabs me and I die or I manage to shoot him and he loses some hp.

This game is not meant to be easy. It has never been. It shouldn't be fair either. We noticed that since beta times. Classes do not have to be balanced in certain ways.

If your 15-20 ppl team got killed by 6 guys, what do you think? Blame certain classes? I rather think you just sucked. And that is okay. This game is 100% about skill. Anything else does not matter.

Another thing:
You are obviously only counting the moments where YOU lose. You never count the moments where you WIN. It seems like that.

What Latrinenkobold said was a pretty good thing. I went like that aswell once. 2h/thrower hybrid. Smashed runaway archers in the back and ran behind a teammate who used a shield for cover if it got too hot. Currently I went light armor with 2h and 7 ath. I rarely get shot now and I can catch up to most archers in a blink of an eye.

So yea....im more than certain its still the matter of L2P. Cause I play alot of 2h melee and you dont see me complainin......................much.

Im starting to think that these massive QQers are players who are lazy bums and really dont want to adobt to different tactics and classes, but just like to stick to one thing only.

Ok, i will be a bit tougher : We didn't complain about archery being OP or anyone being OP. We complained about the number of archers, the number of cav. In this way, your exemple here is totally useless. A pertinent one would have been to your shielder against 3 HA (we're complaining about the NUMBER, not about op HA are. Understood?

Of course it's not meant to be easy, but it's a game, so it has to be fun for everyone. And as far as i see, it's not fun for everyone atm

Oh? so the game is 100% about skills? I think that's the first time someone dare saying that x) So a couchwhore lancer who get 15 kills in a row by only couching is as skilled as a shielder/2h/pole who get 15 kills in a row? So his 15 kills by couching are made totally thx to his amazing skills for pressing x and running straight ahead, and not because couching one shot everything?
Oh and i was among those 15-20 guys, so hearding that i suck from someone like you is pretty surprising :s

@ Renegat:

Well, that's true. You didn't directly complain about classes themselves. But if 3 HA attack someone, it does of course mean 3x the amount of arrows... something has to hit then.

The thing simply is that a higher amount of cav or archers is getting noticed by everyone. They are, lets say "different" than infantry. Infantry is "normal" in crpg, they are the "main" class. No one would say a word if this game only had infantry players. Okay, maybe people would start to complain about throwers then, as they have some range. Or pikers due to range. Who knows.
I am not sure how to solve a "problem" with too many players of one class...

:D
maybe "suck" was a too hard word. You don't suck, you ain't a bad player. I rather meant your team as a whole was not as good as the other team at that time. It often happens that less people kill the bigger team.
And why shouldn't that happen? Amount doesn't always win after all. :)

I'm sorry either you're grossly exaggerating or you all really really did suck. 20 inf/ranged who are sticking together getting wiped by 6 lancers/HA? Please. Either you were all soloing all over the map, your 'sticking together' meant that you were all chasing after one lancer in circles whilst ignoring half the others or you all just plain sucked. In no way should a ranged player get caught by HA or lancers if they are sticking close to pikeman/hoplite, particularly hoplite with the shield protection against HA. Even then it's piss easy as light ranged to dodge past a lance and that gives you time to move closer to team mates to protect you, even against arabians. As for against HA's. It's a similar situation, sidestep and shoot ffs. Arabians are a pain but they aren't that amazing that timing a frikkin sidestep (not hard) doesn't avoid them if they try to bump you. And then there's no real excuse for not being able to avoid an arrow and shoot back. So yeah your ranged players bloody failed. Darmaster evidently failed as a hoplite to. He should have been protecting those ranged. The only way to explain this situation you outlined is a massive failing in skill levels on that team and that your sticking together meant a loosely clumped group running around like headless chickens. It certainly can't be an argument about numbers which brings me to next point.

Contradiction alert. You're insisting you're only complaining against the number of archers/cav yet your example of why darmaster raged was a 20 vs 6 situation? Sorry but that doesn't add up. The only way your example makes sense is if you're complaining about them being OP.

Edit: And please stop replying in quotes. It makes it a pain to have to quote you. Reply like a normal person.

O and just because. Couch lancing 15 people in a row? I'd say that's pretty effing skillful. I suck at couching (I'm more likely to hit a team mate or miss stupidly) and I know that I could kill steal 15 kills in a row with my hoplite build far easier than I can couch lance.

The amount of archers now (at least on NA1) isn't more than it was a year ago, but we haven't seen these numbers of archers for at least 6 months, probably closer to 8.  So people were used to having only 5-10% of the people on the server as an archer.  Now that we're seeing the numbers closer to what they should have been all along (I'd estimate closer to 25-30%) people are bitching and complaining.

Just came back from EU 1 and melee infantry is still the dominating class.
