So I'm making a Hoplite that likes to grab the occasional horse and lance around a bit. The build I want requires 4 shield and 5 riding, and then the rest is undecided.
I'm mainly looking at 3 builds atm, but I'd be open to other suggestions.

or 21/15 - 62hp

Ironflesh: 3
Power Strike: 7
Shield: 4
Athletics: 5
Riding: 5
Weapon Master: 5
Polearm: 146
How much of a difference are these subtleties going to be? Will the movespeed be worth the 10 HP drop? Is the damage bonus that much more with more powerstrike and less WPF? What about attack speed?
I just don't know how much of a difference all of these factors really make. If it matters, I'll likely be using mid-to-low tier armor (Lamellar Vest), and frankly my favorite weapon has been the fauchard for it's huge (swinging) range and decent speed. The shield I like to use for the beginning of the match but often drop it or it gets destroyed later once the sides start to thin, so I like using weapons that allow 4 direction attacks.
Thoughts? Considerations? Am I simply over-thinking this?
