No, not just you. But I wouldn't say retarded, I would say confused and confusing. The upkeep system was a nice idea that was always pretty well doomed the moment the market was added.

I think the best balancing features of the game is gear weight and the way it effects your movement and attack speed, I think that is where the balancing is to be had.

Tbh, i did not mind tincans running around 24/7, was quite fun gangbanging them. And, with most of the players sitting on just one tier lower gear with almost same protection as plate, i do not see any more reasoning behind upkeep (it was put in place to stop guys abusing high lvl gear 24x7).  That is still not happening.

Please, remove the marketplace options for trading money, just keep item for item, fair and square. Everyone has to make their own money, this would stop loom selling and people bathing in money.

I've made something like 50k+ gold on alt of mine with gear cost of 45k in last gen. I had less gear cost the gen before that and pretty much stayed at the same gold amount for the entire gen. Shit happens.

My full cav gear costs 55,099 gold and upkeep is 3,854 gold max. I've always had about 200k gold buffer. Sometimes I get below 140k, but sometimes gain it back over 200k again. I'm sure I'm not gaining any gold, but that's not even my goal. Will see if I am forced to use cheaper gear because I'm not retiring for now and there is not going to be low level gear gold mining at all.

I have always 500k - 700k buffer, every gen i`m gaining maybe 10k or loosing 100k, it depends how often i'm playing with x5 or with x1.

I guess what OP means is that repairs were increased recently, ive definitly noticed a change. I used to be able to break even or even make a little but now im losing tons of money despite the fact im still winning just as much. Its gotten to the point were i would guess you would not be able to break even unless you were using less than 25-30k max. I dont really get the point if youve got all this good gear and under normal circumstances you can only afford to use crap. I have a ton of money and can sell looms over and over but still. It largley punishes the newer players especially cavalry. I used to play 2h and i wouldnt use heavier armor even if i could have afforded it, its more about play style than being able to afford it, espcieally now with the heavy cav nerf making heavy cav extremly unviable anyways.

When you hit lvl 31 you get the option to retire and loom a weapon (buff it's stats a little). Each time you do you gain a generation as in McAce3889 son Ace3889 (why do you have numbers in your name :[ ).
Each time you do you gain 3% xp so during gen 2 you get 1030xp per tick instead of 1000. So each gen gets shorter and shorter so you make less money per gen, but if you measure it as time played you make the same on average.

Yes 839 up keep isn't bad. I prefer seeing that number around 500. I miss the old ambiguous system where you just had total cost :*(

I don't think you make less frank, I think it's the same because you also get a money bonus.
