Blocks are instant until late in swing animation, not sure if speed effects the recovery. You can still attack and instablock if you don't do it too late.

Im practicing in native with the tutorial atm, must say that its a good way to start :) im at the regular fighter atm and I can almost parry all of his attacks flawlessly but then when I go online them feints are very hard to block, moar practice is needed.
I loot corpses of their golden teeth.
But he'll be around somewhere between Heaven and The Devil, because neither of them will take him in, and he'll be farting loudly and singing a filthy song.

I recommend sword and shield as first build. Lets you learn swings with different weapons and chambering. After you hit 31 with sword and shield try a 27/12 or 30/9 2 handed build. you should also have enough money to armor crutch by now.

I went Pole - Sword and shield (where I actually learned how to fight) - and am going 2 hander next
after that I'll probably go back to pole then to Cav.

BY THE SWORD AND BY THE SPEAR!

I would recommend being a heavily armoured twohander. It's more forgiving to miskates, and you'll have more chance to get the hang of manual blocking. That is after native/duel practice of course.

Seems the fascists are gaining ground once again in UKR... right vving politics is SO bad for the general populace but STILL in times of trouble the uneducated turn to them for help, simply because they are so amoral they vvill supply those vvilling to fight vvith vveapons rather than knovvledge.

My UU key is broken incase you can't tell :D
