We can never have a true discussion about game balance so long as all we use is the k/d at the end of game. The fact is, ranged weapons are responsible for 75% of a team's melee kills since they whittled down that tin can enough to be one hit while stunned by a ranged hit.
If you feel tempted to talk about "stat whoring", just go away, you know you are one. I'm talking about adding statistics that a regular player can see that will bring real numbers to the "game balance" discussions that inevitably boil down to "Class X is leading the scoreboards".
I think it will be a far different discussion when instead of a melee leading the boards with 10 kills 1 assist and 5 deaths, it will be an archer with 3 kills 25 assists and 2 deaths.
