Sheathed item question

does it help that the buckler is sheathed compared to being put on back in terms of the agility reduction? Something similar would be running faster with 1h weapon than 2h.

I don't think it matters where it is sheathed, only that it is.

Ain't that what you asked?

Im not sure since it seems that running with 1h in one hand the other free to carry momentum is faster than with both hands on 2h. it seems less intrusive for something to be at ur side than have something wobbling like on the back. I looked and there hasnt been science done on how certain ways of carrying affect athletics and wpf

no idear, but those things you pictured there, do they all have the same weight? If not then there is different reduction or increases to your speed.

This doesnt have to do with weight but the speed formulas for sheath types (for instance fighting with sheathed shield is slow and running with sheathed 2h is fast). Specifically if 1hs and bucklers get a less athletics/wpf penalty because of their sheath type.

So a weapon that does have a weight increases your speed because you carry it around? :)

Ok ok I know what you mean there. Just joking :P

In my opinion, it does only effect your view. I find myself tend to do worse in manual blocking with a huscarl shield on my back, and do worse in ranged if I carry a pole in my back. Especially fauchard, completely fucks blocks my sight. That is not a problem when you use First person view, but First person view is worse as it is already. Well let's say, I am not very good with it.

As far as I know, sheathing a shield will not help your speed, but sheathing weapons will.

Sheathing your shield AND your weapon will increase your speed.

Shields while sheathed however provide you a larger penalty than weapons while sheathed.  You will still move faster than having a shield out, though.

I don't know if there's any difference between the buckler being sheathed and putting a shield on your back, I imagine the buckler is just a lot lighter than other shields, and thus has a lot smaller penalty.

I have to say that the speed difference when you sheat a weapon is barely noticeable.
The logic of war seems to be that if a belligerent can fight he will fight.
